Hola (thats not the language they speak, just what I felt like saying).
After 6 days at sea after India, being sick the WHOLE TIME, no way to do our homework (our intranet was out), and rocky seas, would you be ready to make it to land? I sure was.
P.S. if you’re curious what I managed to get myself into in India, check these out: PART I, PART II, and PART III.
Lucky for us, we ended up at one of the most beautiful countries in the world, Mauritius (think southeastern coast of Africa, near Madagascar)!!!!
I officially decided that when I retire, that’s where I’m moving, I LOVED IT, just look at this water…
No seriously, this place is unbelievable.
We only got to stay in Mauritius for a day *insert frowny face here* because some previous SASers weren’t exactly good travelers (they burnt a beach house down apparently). So, we’re here just for a single day.
Because it was just a one day stop, we all participated in field programs (for me a field class, AKA a field trip).
Kyle and I lucked out with this because we got to spend the whole day on a sick glass-bottom boat looking at fish and coral, then at the beach. Literally, what could be better?
Oh, thats easy: I’M GETTING COLLEGE CREDIT FOR THIS.
It did make me really sad to see how much coral is being bleached, which is exactly what we’re talking about in Global Studies
After our boat trip, we spent the rest of the day on the beach, so I’ll just leave you to get jealous
P.S. I found a little piece of Tilly Glenn with me, even in Mauritius.
JUST YOU WAIT UNTIL SOUTH AFRICA!!! It’ll be A-frican blast.
Adios
Katelyn
