Oh hey, here we are, already on India part 2 (India part 1 is HERE and India part 3 is HERE). How IN THE WORLD are we already SEVEN ports in? I’m putting in a request to God to either stop time or go back because this is outrageous.
But anyway, you didn’t come here to hear me complain, I hope you came to see pictures. And boy, today do I ever have some for you, golly.
This is THE TAJ MAHAL BABY!!! This is BUCKET LIST MATERIAL.
(You also just need to scroll down so you see Josey split her pants, ALSO bucket list material)
Day 3: Agra
So a while back this guy, Shah Jahan, had a wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Turns out she REALLY didn’t want him to forget her so she wanted something grand to keep her honor (I mean don’t we all?). Luckily, he loved her big time… big enough to build her a white marble palace-looking-tomb. Yes. Just. For. Her. Wowza is all I’ve got to say to that.
But lucky for us, it’s still there! So we made the trek to go check out what Shah Jahan’s big love for his wife (well his favorite wife) looked like.
Note: apparently sunrise at the Taj is INCREDIBLE, but what’s also incredible is India’s weather and its incredible ability not to cooperate (oh the parallels to life). That being said, as we were getting our tickets, a HUGE crack of thunder hit and it started to rain… Not to mention there was so much fog that you couldn’t see the Taj in all its white marble golory.
(I regret any time I prayed for rain on the ship at this very moment)
(Yes, I want it to rain on the ship sometimes, okay? You can’t get jack squat done when it’s sunny and there’s a freaking pool)
Luck (and Lucky our tour guide) was on our side and just as we walked through the gate, it cleared up!!!!
Before all of the pictures, let me just say the Taj is really THAT beautiful, intricate, and unreal. Please go,
And now for the pictures… (don’t forget to see the ones after the Taj!)
Before we walked in, obligatory group picture…
Would you look at this?
While we were there, ever 2 minutes I was stopped or one of the girls I was with was stopped and asked for a picture.
After we collected roughly 300 pictures of the Taj and us at the Taj, it was time to go… but not without the obligitory picture:
The most exciting part? Clearly the chipmunks we fed on the way in.
But now for my favorite part (and chill, yes I love the history part of what we were doing, but
JOSEY SPLIT HER PANTS MID JUMP
I just about peed my pants laughing, I’ll have you know. Just look at that.
Also fun fact, elephant pants (the style she’s wearing) are a common trend on SAS. And just our India group alone has slit 11 pairs in 7 days!
Those puppies were toast. Luckily we were resourceful.
AAAAANNNDDDD for the rest of our incredible time:
Okay, for the sake of your sanity and mine, I think I need to make an India part 3 for days 5 & 6 (I can imagine how many of you just cheered).
Okay, I’ll see you there!!!
